Asylum Age Assessments – updated guidance

dementia-awareness

According to statutory guidance “age assessments should only be carried out where there is significant reason to doubt that the claimant is a child. Age assessments should not be a routine part of a local authority’s assessment of unaccompanied or trafficked children.”

We have recently worked with Jacinta Kane, who worked on the ADCA guidance, to update our guide to carrying out asylum age assessments for social workers. The guide includes information on:

  • How to prepare for the assessment interview(s)
  • What to do during the interview
  • What to do following the assessment interview(s)
