As part of our support for Children’s Mental Health Week, we’ve made a £2000 donation to Hull and East Yorkshire Mind.

This charity works with people of all ages to help them improve their mental health and specifically supports young people (10-18) by getting them involved in group sessions and teaching them skills they can take away such as mindfulness, relaxation and stress control.

The charity provides a safe space to participate in things young people may have never tried before, such as rock climbing, DJ workshops and photography. It also works with young people on a one-to-one basis to provide them with additional support for the areas they need the most help with.

Claire Thomas, Fundraising and Marketing Manager for Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, commented: ”Virtual College’s support to help fund this work is an enormous help.

“We currently do not receive any direct funding for this project and are reliant on donations from the local community to make sure it continues.

“We know this project makes a real, positive difference to young people’s lives.”
