New online tool to streamline Section 11 Audits

The Safeguarding e-Academy in conjunction with Virtual College has developed an online tool which will revolutionise the audits, allows organisations to save money and time by allowing organisations to complete their own Section 11 Audits online. start screen of toolkit

Working Together 2006 identifies, as a key function of a Local Safeguarding Children Board, that they must “monitor and evaluate what is done by the Local Authority and board partners individually and collectively to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and advise them on ways to improve”; and, that they should “have a particular focus on ensuring that those key people and organisations that have a duty under Section 11 of the Children Act  2004 … are fulfilling their statutory obligations about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children”. Traditionally these audits have been carried out on site using paper and pen type evaluations which then need analysing and putting into some sort of a system.

Abby Dacres, Head of Safeguarding said " We developed this tool to make this process more efficient and effective not just for our member organisations to track and monitor organisations that work with children, but also for the organisations themselves to see at a glance what they need to do and how to become fully compliant."

"The tool is user friendly and allows anyone to work through a number of criteria and submit evidence to show how they meet the criteria. This can then be verified remotely by an authorised person and feedback given. Both the end user and the monitoring organisation can clearly see an overview of what they have achieved and what has yet to be completed"
