The Safeguarding Children e-Academy has been commissioned by Lincolnshire SCB to create a web-based parenting resource. The website will support the delivery, vision and six strategic themes of Lincolnshire’sChildren and Young People’s plan and has been produced through collaborative working with parents groups, practitioners and members of the Parenting Strategy Group.
Based around a street with various locations and characters, indoors and out, the highly interactive and entertaining site will allow parents and children to access information on a huge variety of topics in a fun and easy way. The site will cover everything from healthy eating and exercise, to sex and relationship advice, through to staying safe and bullying. It will allow the site owners to track the level of interest in particular areas and so target their resources far more effectively.
The site is currently being developed specifically for Lincolnshire but can be adapted to suit any LSCB. The website is still under development but if you want to have a sneak preview please visit http://parenting.virtual-college.co.uk remember, the site is still under development.
For a full list of issues covered in the site or to find out how the site can be adapted to suit your own SCB please contact Abby Dacres on 01943 885 083.
