On March 17th 2017 we attended the Glimpse event, ‘Predators in Positions of Trust’, hosted by Jim Gamble and Ineqe Group.

The event was visited by numerous safeguarding professionals and volunteers, and examined how predators infiltrate positions of trust in order to gain access to vulnerable children while hiding in public view.

Those who attended received information on topics including ‘risk management’, ‘effective leadership’ and’ criminal justice versus safeguarding outcomes’.

Speeches were delivered by six specialists, including Jim Gamble, who spoke about the importance of leadership in safeguarding, and by Karen Leach, who bravely told how she overcame her own experiences of child abuse.

Speaking of the day, one of Virtual College’s safeguarding account managers, Arooj Jamil, said that: “The whole event was thought provoking, I was really inspired by Karen’s story of overcoming her abuse.

“I was particularly fascinated by Jim Gamble’s approach to safeguarding and his commitment to professional curiosity. It was also great to meet a number of our current customers.”
